    * Take sleeve off and measure
    ** Henschen Axle - Thru hole to atmosphere must be plugged. Can be plugged with 3/16 diameter piece of metal (example: 3/16 drill bit cut off). Clean out hole in axle next to seal. Make sure it is FREE of grease. Put Airtight bonding agent in hole and on the metal plug. Press in flush with axle. Continue with regular installation.

     

    If you dont know your axle manufacturer, measure the axle outer diameter where the seal will ride. Be sure to remove the bushing that is there currently so your measurement takes place on the bare axle neck.

    Other Wheel Hub Devices are Not Water Tight & Can't be Monitored-

    • During Hub heating (from driving), and the cooling (from submersion), a vacuum is created that sucks water into the hub. Spring-Type bearing devices cannot keep all the water out. Water remains inside the hub cavity causing corrosion to the bearings and axle.
    • Spring systems cannot be seen or tested for accurate operation and give no indication of bearing failures until the wheel falls off on the highway.
