Select
the best time for passage making, and know which
way to turn to avoid fronts and pressure systems
with up-to-the-minute weather maps. With its
extensive programmability and combined receiver
and printer design, the Furuno FAX-207 is
considered one of the best. Like most
medium-frequency transmissions, weatherfaxes are
affected by time of day and distance between the
receiver and transmitter. The FAX-207 can scan
all available frequencies at the scheduled
transmission time and select the band with the
clearest signal. Program
it to turn on, receive a map and turn off with
no operator intervention.
