FORE & AFT MARINE
FLASH LIGHTS

Submersion:
NightStar lights were placed in a water pressure chamber. At pressures
ranging from 180 to 210 PSI, the lenses cracked and the lights were
internally flooded. The average pressure required to cause failure was 190
PSI (or an equivalent water depth of 450-ft.).
[Test conducted by Hauser Laboratories]
Note:
After testing the lights were drained and then baked at 180 degrees for 36
hours to eliminate residual water. Afterwards, all lights were fully
operational.
Storage
Temperature:
NightStar lights were subjected to 10 deep temperature cycles in a thermal
chamber. Each cycle consisted of a 5-hour dwell time at -50
[Test conducted by Hauser Laboratories]
Operational
Temperature:
The same lights used in the storage temperature test were then cold soaked
at-40F
(-40
[Test conducted by Hauser Laboratories]
Chemical
Resistance:
NightStar lights were immersed for 3 days in 10 different chemical baths
with the following results. (Note: Clear NightStar lights (with
Polycarbonate housings) were used in chemical baths 1 through 8. Yellow
NightStar lights(with Polycarbonate / ABS housings) were used in chemical
baths 9, 10 and 11).

lights were subjected to 10 deep temperature cycles in a thermal
chamber. Each cycle consisted of a 5-hour dwell time at -50F (-45C)
and at +140F (+60C) with a 2-hour transition time between each
extreme. At the end of the test the lights were returned to room
temperature and found to function perfectly. |
