    The ST4000T Plus is the perfect pilot for larger tiller steered yachts. The fluxgate compass is separated from the drive unit for greater accuracy, and the control unit can be mounted where it is always easy to reach.
    Full SeaTalk and NMEA compatibility mean you can steer straight to a waypoint, lock on to a given wind angle, or simply set and follow a course to steer.
    The large, clear display keeps you informed of what is happening, and even acts as a multi-function instrument or navaid repeater. For larger vessels and offshore cruising choose the ST4000T Grand Prix

     

    The ST4000 Plus offers all the control and sophistication of the best inboard-mounted autopilots. The drive, which features a rugged single-stage epicyclic gearbox and recirculating ball leadscrew, mounts next to the tiller. The compass is installed belowdecks and the wiring is protected. 

    A fluxgate compass and a six-button control unit with a large LCD complete the hardware. The control unit offers both numeric and graphic readouts of the boat's status, and serves as a SeaTalk repeater. If you need the autopilot page however, it is just one key press away. For all this sophistication, the ST4000 Plus pilots are designed for owner-installation. Like the other Plus autopilots, both 4000 models can accept NMEA directly without an interface box.

    Consider the type of boating you plan to do, then match your boats steering system, fully laden displacement and length with the Tiller Pilot Selection Chart below to find the right pilot model for you.

    Remember, always use fully laden displacement which is often 20% above the designed displacement, and dont be tempted to choose a pilot which is always working at the limits of its designed capabilities. If you choose your pilot with safety in mind, then it wont struggle when the going gets tough.
